SEBASTIÁN TELLADO

Born in Buenos Aires, he has obtained Bachelor’s degrees in the Flute Performance and the Orchestra Conducting, and postgraduate degrees in the Interpretation of Contemporary Music at the Manuel de Falla Superior Conservatory of Music, and therefore, he became a disciple of Haydée Schvartz, Patricia Da Dalt, Miguel Gilardi and Jorge Slivskin. Besides, he finished the Bachelor of Musical Arts at the National University of the Arts, whose thesis was “Post-serial thought in the flute repertoire between 1970-2000. Five Cases on Greek Mythology” earned him the distinction of Summa Cum Laude. He is currently studying the Doctorate in Arts at the National University of the Arts.

 

As a performer, he worked uninterruptedly as 2nd Flute and 2nd Piccolo in the National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina between October 2005 and December 2015. At the same time, he has worked with the guitarist Manuel Moreno for more than a decade in the interpretation and diffusion of several original Argentinian and Latin American works for the flute and the guitar. The outcome of this shared work is his first record: Argentinian Compositions of the 20th Century (2011). At present, since its foundation in 2008, he has been a stable member of the Ensamble Tropi as a flutist and as an Executive Director, dedicated to the diffusion of current chamber music, under the musical direction of Haydée Schvartz.

He introduced himself in the most important halls and theaters in Argentina. He participated as a soloist and also he took part in the Ensamble Tropi in the XVI ° Festival of Contemporary Music of the University of Chile (2015), the XI° Conference of Contemporary Music of the University of Fine Arts (Cali - Colombia, 2016), to the XXXIX° International Forum of New Music "Manuel Enriquez" (Mexico DF, 2018), the NOVA Cycle (Bogotá - Colombia, 2018), the VivaMúsica Series (Belo Horizonte - Brazil, 2019). He was recognized and subsidized by Ibermúsicas on three occasions, from the Argentinian Foreign Ministry, the National Fund for the Arts and BAMúsica - GCBA.

As a Conductor, he is the Principal Conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra of the Alberto Ginastera Music Conservatory of Buenos Aires, together with Germán Zacoro Nielsen.

 

In May 2017, he was appointed Curator of the Contemporary Music Cycle at the Argentinian e Cervantes Theater for three seasons.

His intense teaching labour includes giving seminars on the interpretation and the language of music from the 20th and 21st centuries in various public institutions, as well as teaching different subjects as a Tenure at the Manuel de Falla Superior Music Conservatory of Buenos Aires city.
